We are seeking an experienced Charge Nurse Manager - Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) to join a highly respected private surgical facility.
 
This is a permanent, full-time leadership role (1.0 FTE) offering competitive remuneration of $130,000 - $135,000 NZD plus outstanding employee benefits.

As Charge Nurse Manager - PACU, you'll lead a busy and diverse Post Anaesthetic Care Unit service, which supports:
  • 12 operating theatres across 2 floors
  • Recovery for both inpatients and day surgery patients
  • Operating hours from 07:30 - 20:30, Monday to Friday (with some weekend lists)
Reporting to the Theatre Manager, you'll provide both operational management and clinical leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centred PACU care.

To be successful in this leadership role, you will:
  • Be a NZ Registered Nurse with a current APC (or hold equivalent experience in Australia, UK, or similar healthcare systems)
  • Have proven leadership experience in PACU, critical care, or perioperative nursing
  • Demonstrate strong clinical expertise with post-anaesthetic patients
  • Show the ability to lead teams through rapidly changing clinical situations
  • Be passionate about fostering a positive, collaborative team culture
  • (Preferred) Hold relevant post-graduate qualifications in critical care or leadership

This role is with one of New Zealand's largest and most respected private surgical facilities, offering advanced theatre, ICU, HDU, and coronary care services. Surgical specialties include:
  • Colorectal & Gastroenterology
  • Gynaecology, Urology, Neurology, Oncology
  • Reconstructive Plastics (including free flaps)
  • ENT/ORL, Orthopaedics, Spinal, Head & Neck
  • Cardiac & Vascular surgery
  • Care for both adult and paediatric patients
