Registered Nurse – Operating Theatre (Theatre RN / OR) Location: Wellington, New Zealand (Private Hospital)
Salary: Up to NZD $108,000 + exceptional benefits

You’ll work alongside a highly skilled surgical team on complex elective lists across: Orthopaedics, Neurosurgery, Gastroenterology & Colorectal, Gynaecology & Paediatrics, Ophthalmology & Oncology, Urology, and Neurophysiology. What you’ll do (key duties)
  • Scrub, circulate and assist across general and specialty lists
  • Maintain aseptic technique, NPSGs and patient safety standards
  • Prepare/verify instruments, implants and consumables; count integrity
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists and PACU to deliver seamless care
  • Document accurately and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
What we’re looking for (must-haves)
  • New Zealand Registered Nurse with current NCNZ practising certificate
  • 2+ years’ perioperative / operating theatre experience (scrub & circulate)
  • Strong foundation in orthopaedics or general surgery (desirable)
  • Confident communicator; calm, team-first mindset in fast-paced theatres
  • Work rights for NZ (NZ citizen/resident or valid visa)
 
We also welcome internationally experienced theatre nurses who already hold NCNZ registration and NZ work rights.
 
Roster & shifts Full-time 1.0 FTE. Mix of rostered shifts; minimal weekends compared to public settings. (Specific shift patterns discussed at interview.)
