Restaurant Manager - Full-Time Position

Location: Auckland, New Zealand
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Guaranteed Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week
Pay Rate: NZD $24 - $35.00 per hour (depending on experience)

 

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated Restaurant Manager with indepth knowledge of running Japanese and/or Korean restaurants especially with experience in Sushi/Sashimi Raw Fish handling high levels of required hygiene procedure understanding, to oversee the daily operations of our restaurant, ensuring outstanding service, efficient operations, and a great experience for our customers. You will lead a team, manage stock and financial records, maintain high food safety standards, and work closely with the kitchen to plan menus.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Menu Planning – Work with chefs to develop and refine menu offerings while maintaining quality and cost control.
  • Event Coordination – Organise special functions and events (e.g. catering bookings for corporate events), ensuring smooth execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Stock & Budget Management – Arrange purchasing and pricing of goods, monitor stock levels, and control costs to meet budgetary requirements.
  • Record-Keeping & Reporting – Maintain accurate records of stock, financial transactions, and staff performance.
  • Health & Safety Compliance – Ensure dining facilities meet hygiene and safety regulations and maintain a clean, well-presented environment.
  • Customer Service & Satisfaction – Greet guests, manage reservations, handle feedback, and resolve complaints professionally.
  • Staff Training & Supervision – Recruit, train, and oversee staff to ensure high service standards and smooth restaurant operations.

 

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a restaurant management role.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays as required.
  • Experience in budgeting, cost control, and stock management.
  • Knowledge of food safety and health regulations.
  • Hospitality qualification (preferred, but not required).
