We’re seeking a dynamic and experienced Restaurant Manager to lead our team and oversee daily operations at our restaurant in The Awanui Hotel.
This is a permanent, full-time position (minimum 30 hours per week). You must be available to work in weekends and public holidays.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a professional and cooperative relationship with kitchen and liquor staff to ensure smooth operation of the business.
- Prepare staff rosters and ensure sufficient level of staffing.
- Train staff, including making sure they are up-to-date with menu and wine items, and can make recommendations when asked to.
- Follow up on customer complains/comments.
- Ensure staff are aware of their obligations under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.
- Group and function bookings.
- Ensure adequate supply of all restaurant items, including napkins, cutlery, menu and wine items.
- In consultation with the owner, chef and staff, prepare and introduce an ongoing calendar of cost-effective promotional initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Current Manager’s certificate and LCQ certificate.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Experience in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Strong understanding of restaurant operations and customer service excellence.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic financial reporting
- Reception experience preferred.
