We’re seeking a dynamic and experienced Restaurant Manager to lead our team and oversee daily operations at our restaurant in The Awanui Hotel. 

 

This is a permanent, full-time position (minimum 30 hours per week). You must be available to work in weekends and public holidays.

We’re seeking a dynamic and experienced Restaurant Manager to lead our team and oversee daily operations at our restaurant in The Awanui Hotel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a professional and cooperative relationship with kitchen and liquor staff to ensure smooth operation of the business.
  • Prepare staff rosters and ensure sufficient level of staffing.
  • Train staff, including making sure they are up-to-date with menu and wine items, and can make recommendations when asked to. 
  • Follow up on customer complains/comments.
  • Ensure staff are aware of their obligations under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.
  • Group and function bookings. 
  • Ensure adequate supply of all restaurant items, including napkins, cutlery, menu and wine items.
  • In consultation with the owner, chef and staff, prepare and introduce an ongoing calendar of cost-effective promotional initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Current Manager’s certificate and LCQ certificate.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Experience in a fast-paced hospitality environment. 
  • Strong understanding of restaurant operations and customer service excellence.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and basic financial reporting
  • Reception experience preferred.
