We are looking for a skilled and passionate Cooks to join our vibrant kitchen team. We guarantee a minimum of 30 hours per week with a pay rate between $24.50 -$28 p/h. Par 2021 Limited seeks friendly and engergetic cooks to join our team at Wigram Hotel.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Prepare a variety of continental dishes using both traditional and modern cooking methods.

  • Check the freshness, quality, and availability of ingredients before use.

  • Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, and steamers, ensuring correct temperature and settings.

  • Season, taste, and adjust dishes during cooking to maintain consistent flavour and quality.

  • Plate meals neatly with correct portions, appealing presentation, and appropriate garnishing.

  • Store raw and cooked food safely in accordance with food safety and hygiene requirements.

  • Modify recipes to cater for dietary needs, including gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, and low-sodium meals.

  • Assist in planning menus and help with estimating and ordering daily or weekly food supplies.

  • Support and guide junior kitchen staff with preparation techniques and safe work practices.

  • Keep the kitchen organised, stocked, and running efficiently through proper mise-en-place and stock rotation.

  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene to meet health and safety regulations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • At least 2 years’ experience as a cook, or a Level 4 or higher qualification in cookery, hotel management, or a related field.

  • Good knowledge of continental dishes, ingredients, and cooking techniques.

  • Ability to work well under pressure in a busy kitchen environment.

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

  • Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
