Motel Manager – Te Kuiti

We are seeking a Motel Manager to lead our Te Kuiti property, ensuring smooth operations, exceptional guest service, and sustainable business growth. What you’ll be doing:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the motel, including guest services, housekeeping, and maintenance.
  • Regularly inspect facilities and ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations.
  • Manage budgets, monitor sales, analyse financial performance, and identify growth opportunities.
  • Handle guest feedback and complaints professionally to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Supervise and coordinate staff and contractors across housekeeping, cleaning, and maintenance functions.
  • Maintain high-quality standards in all guest areas, front-of-house, and back-of-house operations.
  • Promote the motel and implement marketing initiatives to attract and retain customers.

What we’re looking for:

  • A hospitality diploma or bachelor’s degree in any discipline, or at least 2 years’ management-related experience.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills with the ability to work independently or in a small team.
  • Positive, energetic personality with a customer-first approach.
  • General knowledge of property maintenance and grounds upkeep.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • A second language would be an advantage.

Role Details:

  • Minimum Guaranteed Hours: At least 30 hours per week (up to 48 hours)
  • Pay Rate: $29.00 – $35.00 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)
  • Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time
