We are in Gisborne looking for 2 full-time Chinese Cooks to join our progressive team. We require a positive and ambitious candidates who handles responsibility with ease whilst remaining focused and in control in a fast-paced environment.

Job Title: Chinese Cook

Number of Vacancies: 2 positions

Location: Gisborne Region

Employment Type: Full-time

Days required: Monday to Sunday on shift

Hours: 30 to 60 hours per week

Payment: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour

 

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

Monitoring the quality of cooked foods during preparation and presentation.

Preparing and cooking and seasoning food.

Regulating temperatures of the cooking equipment.

Portion food, placing on plates or takeaway boxes and adding gravies and sauces.

Responsible for storing food in temperature controlled facilities.

Prepare dietary food to meet the customer's special needs.

Planning and adiusting menus accordingly if needed.

Keeping kitchen tidy and clean and meeting cleaning and safety standards.

Supervising, monitoring and training kitchen staff to maintain the highest standard service at alltimes.

Assisting owner in checking food stocks and placing order from food suppliers.

Mastering a full knowledge of the menu and advising cooking procedures.

 

To be right for this role and our organization, you need:

  • More than 1 years relevant experience or a level 2 or above relevant qualification.
  • Be fit enough to work under pressure in a busy kitchen.
  • Must be able to work on weekends and work overtime.
  • Must be flexible to work lunch and dinner shifts and be able to manage two shifts in a day.
  • Full commitment is required.
  • Be able to pass a police check.
