About the Role This is a full-time, permanent Theatre Nurse role within a dedicated Cardiac Operating Theatre team.
You’ll be part of a highly skilled surgical environment that handles a wide range of complex adult cardiothoracic procedures, including:
- CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting)
- Valve Repairs & Replacements
- VATS (Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery)
- Thoracotomies and more
- Monday to Friday roster only – no night duty.
- Mix of 6, 8, or 10-hour shifts with staggered starts (0700–1200).
- Latest finish is 8:30pm.
- On-call and weekend availability shared and minimal.
- Flexible FTE – tailor your roster to suit your lifestyle.
You’ll need to bring:
- NZ Nursing Registration + Current APC.
- Proven scrub experience in open cardiac surgery (essential).
- Strong perioperative knowledge across adult cardiothoracic procedures.
- Calm, confident clinical skills in fast-paced, high-pressure situations.
- A collaborative, team-focused approach to patient care.
- Competitive pay: up to $52.89 per hour (NZNO MECA rates).
- No night shifts + flexible working hours.
