This is a full-time, permanent opportunity to guide surgical excellence in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Your Role & Responsibilities As the Charge Nurse, you’ll be the clinical anchor and operational leader in theatre. You will:
  • Act as the go-to clinical expert for perioperative services.
  • Oversee resourcing, staffing, and day-to-day theatre workflow.
  • Ensure patient safety and surgical efficiency across multiple specialties.
  • Provide hands-on clinical support during surgical procedures.
  • Mentor and guide nurses, fostering teamwork and professional growth.
  • Liaise effectively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and theatre teams.
  • Manage rostering, allocation, and equipment procurement.
  • Maintain compliance with infection control and health & safety protocols.
About You We’re seeking a confident perioperative leader who thrives in high-performing teams.
  • NZ Registered Nurse with current APC 
  • 4+ years’ perioperative nursing experience across a range of specialties (orthopaedics highly valued).
  • Leadership experience in a surgical/theatre environment.
  • Skilled at coordinating staff and resources in a complex, fast-moving setting.
  • Calm under pressure, decisive, and solutions-focused.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to build trust across multidisciplinary teams.
