We are a busy cafe based in Mt Eden, Auckland. We serve coffee, baking items and A La Carte cuisine. We are now hiring 2 Cooks.

Duties of position:

 

  • examining foodstuffs to ensure quality
  • regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
  • preparing and cooking food
  • seasoning food during cooking
  • portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes
  • storing food in temperature controlled facilities
  • preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
  • may plan menus and estimate food requirements
  • may train other kitchen staff and apprentices

To be successful in this role, you must have

  • NZQF Level 2 or higher qualification in cookery field, or at least 1 year's relevant work experience
  • excellent communication skills
  • clear minded, positively motivated, being able to work under pressure
  • can work on weekends when necessary and be resilient and conscientious as we open 7 days a week.
  • no drug using history and can pass a pre-employment drug check
  • clean police record
  • be able to work in early and late hours
