FLOOR MANAGER REQUIRED FOR BUSY WINERY RESTAURANT ON WAIHEKE ISLAND, AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND. 

PERMANENT CONTRACT, FULL TIME (30+ HOURS PER WEEK)

Casita Miro is a Spanish inspired restaurant situated amongst the vines of Miro Vineyard in the Onetangi Valley on Waiheke Island. Waiheke Island is situated in the Hauraki Gulf - just 35 minutes by passenger ferry from Auckland. They are the # 1 restaurant recommended by Trip Advisor on Waiheke Island and winner of many regional and national accolades.

We are after a Floor Manager to join our happy management team.

Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

  •           Shared responsibility for the successful operation of the restaurant, financial and reputational – maintaining food, service and health and safety standards and compliance to Casita Miro standards
  •           Regularly strategize with the Operations Manager and Restaurant manager as to the future shape of the business
  •            Reservation and email management when required.
  •            Help to plan and implement the running of special events such as weddings, corporate or other functions, and ensuring efficient and timely remuneration
  •            Motivational leadership
  •            Supervise and train junior and new floor staff in both Casita Miro cultural practise and with adherence to NZ Health and Safety regulations, with kindness, thoroughness and patience.
  •            Set a good example for junior floor staff at all times – lead by example, praise in public and critisise in private
  •           Aid staff in up-selling techniques to maximise wine and food sales
  •            Uphold morale in the restaurant.
  •          An elegant ambassador for our brand
  •          Help to ensure relationship between front of house and kitchen staff is of a high standard.
  •           Making accurate booking reservations, greeting guests appropriately and taking food and wine orders in accordance with Casita Miro guidelines
  •           Ensure restaurant set up and presentation is of a consistently high standard
  •           Ensure that opening and closing SOP’s are completed
  •           Take telephone calls throughout the day and update FOH and BOH re changes
  •           Maximise efficient customer flows into restaurant via online booking system ResDiary and in consultation with Floor Managers and Bookings/Events manager

Are you or do you have the following knowledge, skills and character?

  • Fluency or a high level of spoken Spanish would be a huge advantage.
  • Be located on or willing to relocate to Waiheke Island.
  • Well organised, well presented, reliable and trustworthy
  • Comfortable with multi-tasking
  • Professional, polite and friendly at all times
  • Self-motivated
  • Eager to learn and develop new skills.
  • Strong leadership attitude

Remuneration and experience required:

  • NZD$30.00 per hour (30 hours minimum per week).
  • Minimum one years’ experience in a service environment (bar or front of house).
