The Role

Hyatt seeks a Finance Business Partner who embraces agile principles and thrives in cross-functional collaboration. As the Director of Finance, you will report directly to the General Manager and play a pivotal role in guiding strategic decision-making and financial planning to drive the hotel’s performance and profitability.

You will lead all financial operations of the hotel, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with financial regulations and standards. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker who is passionate about empowering teams, driving results, and delivering value to stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management

•             Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements.

•             Analyze variances and collaborate with department managers to implement corrective actions.

•             Lead accounting functions, including budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and cash management.

•             Oversee the year-end process and coordinate external audits.

•             Approve reconciliations, audit work papers, and adjustments.

Internal Controls & Risk

•             Ensure compliance with New Zealand terms and reporting obligations.

•             Maintain robust internal controls and segregation of duties.

•             Manage Hyatt policies compliance and monitor legislative changes and industry trends.

Operational Leadership

•             Mentor and coach the finance team to support professional growth.

•             Supervise IT and Procurement functions with a strong understanding of hotel operations.

•             Foster a culture of innovation and adaptability.

Business Partnering

•             Collaborate with hotel leadership to implement strategic initiatives that enhance revenue and cost efficiency.

•             Build strong relationships with owners’ representatives and key stakeholders.

•             Promote financial literacy across departments to empower decision-making.

 

Qualifications

•             Minimum 5 years of experience as Director of Finance of a 5-star luxury hotel.

•             International experience preferable

•             Proven ability to work effectively with diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.

•             Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

•             Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

•             Chinese language proficiency is a plus, reflecting our need to communicate fluently with ownership stakeholders.
