We are looking for a Hotel Duty Bar Manager to work in the Waipiata Otago/Southland region. Someone who is proactive and is looking for the next step in their career is ideal. Due to the nature of this role, we need someone who has transferable skills.
This is a full-time permanent role working a minimum of 30 hours for up to 45 hours. The role will pay between $27 to $32 depending on the experience.
Rostered hours will be between Monday to Sunday, 9:00am to 2:00am.
Responsibilities:
- Managing all aspects of the hotel bar operation, including staff supervision, inventory control, and financial management
- Developing and implementing creative bar concepts and cocktail menus to enhance the guest experience
- Ensuring high standards of customer service, cleanliness, and compliance with all relevant regulations
- Overseeing staff scheduling, training, and performance management
- Monitoring and analysing bar sales and profitability, and making data-driven decisions to improve operations
- Collaborating with the food and beverage team to create a cohesive and memorable dining experience for our guests.
- Comply with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012
- Assume responsibility for the liquor inventory control and purchasing, ensuring stable stock levels and weekly stocktakes.
- Ensure the cost-effective bar roster is complied with.
- Prepare and introduce an on-going calendar of cost-effective promotional initiatives in consultation with the owners.
- Manage the staff whilst on duty.
- Participate as a constructive member of the management team with the view to maximising business sales volumes and profitability.
- Provide patrons with friendly, efficient and professional service at all times.
- Building relationships with customers.
- Address and resolve any customer concerns.
- Monitor customers at all times, looking for signs of being influenced by alcohol or showing signs of intoxication.
You will have:
- Minimum 2 years of experience dealing with, selling, or handling alcohol either in retail or hospitality.
- Excellent people management and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- A keen understanding of current trends in the beverage industry
- Proficient in using point-of-sale systems
- Ability to work nights and weekends
- License Controller Qualification (LCQ)
- Manager's Certificate
- Motor Vehicle License
- Clean Police Record
