JOB DESCRIPTION FOR DUTY MANAGER / FOH
· Ensure a professional relationship with the kitchen and Front of House is maintained, to
· ensure the overall business operates smoothly.
· Organise functions for customers, including communicating with all relevant parties to ensure
· all requirements of the customers and the business are met.
· Training and supervising the new staff.
· General cash, eftpos and credit card handling, and till reconciliation.
· Handle customer complaints and deal with them in a professional and friendly manner.
· Ensure host obligations (under the sale of liquor act) are conveyed to all restaurant staff & practiced.
· Provides exceptional FOH service to customers & ensuring the rest of the team also do the same.
· Checking Stock levels & helping with ordering supplies.
· Maintaining a high standard of quality control, hygiene, and adhere to health & safety standards.
· Lead by example and motivate the staff members on shift.
· Communicate with the guests about any changes to the menus, wine list and venue.
· Maintain good host responsibility.
· Keeping the work areas clean & tidy.
· Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
· Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
· Check food while cooking to stir or turn & help the Chef while cooking & follow his/her instructions.
· Assisting the kitchen while service.
· Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
· Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
· Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
· Check quality of ingredients
· Monitor stock & rotate accordingly.
· Work with management to assess and improve processes and policies
· Uphold and enforce company policies
· Address employee complaints or performance issues as needed
· Check in with employees regularly to determine satisfaction
· Address customer issues and complaints
· Schedule regular maintenance and cleaning of facilities like toilets, ensure fireplaces running
· and firewood restocked.
· Oversee security of the facility.
