Job duties
- Knows proper function, operations, maintenance and cleaning of various kitchen appliance such as a blender, oven, grill, or stand mixer
- Checks food and ingredients for freshness to ensure the quality
- Prepares and cooks food in the menu
- Seasons food according to recipes or customers’ need
- Portions, arranges, and garnishes food to the required standard
- Estimates expected food consumption and organizes preparation
- Assists in planning new dishes
- Keeps a sanitised and orderly environment as per kitchen sanitation guidelines
- Ensures all food and other items are stored properly
- Meets with customers to ensure a great meal experience
- Has a positive attitude regarding the job and communicates with management and fellow crew
- Follows cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures
- Trains other kitchen staff and apprentices
Pay rate: minimum $27.00/hour - maximum $32.00/hour
Guaranteed hours of work per week: minimum of 30 hours per week.
Requirements for the job
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience
- Full training will be provided
- Be physically fit
- Full time availability
- No criminal record
- Candidates need to be NZ citizens/residents
