Job duties

  • Knows proper function, operations, maintenance and cleaning of  various kitchen appliance such as a blender, oven, grill, or stand mixer
  • Checks food and ingredients for freshness to ensure the quality
  • Prepares and cooks food in the menu
  • Seasons food according to recipes or customers’ need
  • Portions, arranges, and garnishes food to the required standard
  • Estimates expected food consumption and organizes preparation
  • Assists in planning new dishes
  • Keeps a sanitised and orderly environment as per kitchen sanitation guidelines
  • Ensures all food and other items are stored properly
  • Meets with customers to ensure a great meal experience
  • Has a positive attitude regarding the job and communicates with management and fellow crew
  • Follows cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures
  • Trains other kitchen staff and apprentices

 

 Pay rate: minimum $27.00/hour - maximum $32.00/hour

 

Guaranteed hours of work per week: minimum of 30 hours per week. 

 

Requirements for the job

  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Full training will be provided
  • Be physically fit
  • Full time availability
  • No criminal record
  • Candidates need to be NZ citizens/residents
