Pay Rate: $29.00 – $32.00 per hour (based on skills and experience)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Minimum Hours: 32 hours per week (up to 40 hours, rostered)

Join Our Team as a Maintenance Manager!

Holiday Inn Queenstown Frankton Road is seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Team Lead to join our hotel team.  If you have hands-on experience in property maintenance and a passion for ensuring facilities are in top condition, we’d love to hear from you!

What are we looking for?

A Maintenance Person who has the following attributes:

  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work on their own
  • Previous experience of facilities management
  • Ability to use all required tools and equipment's
  • Record / Log all maintenance work and submit monthly reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day maintenance operations of the hotel, including service standards, equipment schedules, and work schedules.
  • Planning, directing, and coordinating the maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, and systems (including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural components).
  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and building regulations.
  • Negotiating and managing contracts for building services and maintenance contractors.
  • Supervising facilities staff and contractors, ensuring work quality and adherence to safety standards.
  • Communicate with Housekeeping to coordinate and prioritize maintenance activities for Guest rooms and public areas
  • Develop systems and procedures to ensure the health and safety of Guests and Team Members, as well as the proper conditions for plants, machinery, and property
  • Communicate with Government agencies to ensure full compliance with statutory regulations
  • Perform daily checks around the hotel
  • Conduct lift emergency release procedures as required.
  • Develop, implement, and direct all emergency programs.
  • Liaise with fire and emergency providers.
  • Plasterboard stopping & Painting Roles.
  • Diagnose, install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment within the hotel
  • Ensure good relationships are built with internal and external customers
  • Maintenance of all hotel fixtures and fittings to ensure they are in safe condition and take action when any unsafe situations arise
  • Develop, implement and manage energy conservation programs for the property to minimize expenses
  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned
  • Identify and introduce environmentally-friendly systems and equipment
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators for the Maintenance Department and take corrective action, as required, to improve equipment inventory, quality audit, productivity, and other objectives

Requirements:

  • 3 years’ work experience or a relevant NZQF level 4 qualification and above.
  • Proven experience in general maintenance, facilities management, or a related trade.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • A valid New Zealand driver’s license and willingness to travel between properties if required.
  • Flexibility to work occasional weekends or after-hours for urgent maintenance needs.
