We are hiring Experienced Caregiver. Golden Pond Private Hospital, independently owned and operated since 1989, has been proudly serving the Eastern Bay of Plenty community with compassionate, high-quality care. With long-term staff members of over 20 years’ service, the 50-bed facility offers both private hospital and palliative care in a modern, purpose-built environment near the Whakatāne township. Attached private apartments are also available for rest home and hospital-level care — truly locals caring for locals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.

  • Support clients with meal preparation and feeding.

  • Administer and remind clients of medication under supervision.

  • Perform light household duties such as laundry and tidying.

  • Maintain client confidentiality and respect their privacy.

  • Report any changes in a client’s condition to the registered duty nurse.

  • Work a minimum of 30 hours and up to 40 hours per week on a rotating roster.

  • Pay rate: $25–$30 per hour, depending on relevant experience (paid fortnightly).

Essential Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience.

  • Level 2 Qualification or higher in Health and Wellbeing (or equivalent).

  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Must be legally eligible to work in New Zealand.
