We are a busy fast-food outlet looking for a kitchen hand cum pizza maker to join our team.

Working hours will be minimum 30 hours per week depending on roster or seasonal requirement. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with daily kitchen operations and food preparation tasks

  • Wash, chop, and prepare vegetables such as tomatoes, peppers, onions, and mushrooms

  • Cut, slice, and grill meats like chicken, ham, and beef

  • Support cooks with meal preparation, plating, and presentation

  • Ensure all food meets restaurant quality standards and food safety requirements

  • Maintain overall cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and restaurant areas

  • Wash dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment, ensuring proper sanitation

  • Keep workstations organized, clean, and fully stocked during service

  • Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering ingredients and supplies as needed

  • Properly handle and store food items to minimize waste and ensure freshness

  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation regulations

  • Report equipment or maintenance issues to management promptly

  • Dispose of waste safely and maintain clean waste areas

  • Assist with receiving and storing deliveries in an organized manner

  • Prepare and cook pizzas according to the restaurant’s menu, customer orders, and dietary requirements

  • Roll, stretch, and shape pizza dough to desired size and thickness

  • Spread sauces, add toppings, and ensure even and consistent presentation

  • Cook pizzas using ovens or other kitchen equipment, monitoring cooking times and temperatures

  • Ensure all pizzas meet the restaurant’s quality, taste, and presentation standards

  • Prepare pizza-specific ingredients such as sauces, cheeses, and toppings before service

  • Monitor pizza-related food stock and assist with ordering supplies as needed

  • Recommend new pizza recipes or menu improvements to management

  • Maintain and clean pizza ovens, tools, and workstations

  • Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations specific to pizza preparation

  • Coordinate with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure timely and accurate pizza orders

  • Perform additional duties as directed by chefs or management

  • Work efficiently and cooperatively with team members in a fast-paced environment assist with other kitchen duties when required

  • Communicate effectively with staff and management to support smooth operations

  • Be available to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as needed

Essential Requirements: 

  • NZ Register level 1 qualification OR

  • Relevant experience

  • Able to work long and

  • Able to work flexible rosters including weekends

  • Training will be provided
