We are looking for a reliable and experienced Full-Time Cook to join our team at Otaika Takeaways.
Our menu includes fresh fish & chips, burgers, and a range of Chinese-style stir-fried dishes and noodles.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, season, and cook a variety of foods including fish & chips, burgers, fried items, and Chinese-style stir-fried dishes and noodles
- Ensure all food is prepared according to the shop’s recipes, portion standards, and quality requirements
- Operate and monitor kitchen equipment such as deep fryers, woks, grills, and food warmers
- Prepare ingredients, sauces, batters, and marinades before service
- Maintain stock levels by checking and storing food supplies, rotating stock, and minimising wastage
- Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are consistently met, including cleaning benches, equipment, and food preparation areas
- Plan and organise workflow to ensure timely production during busy periods
- Assist in training new staff in basic food preparation and safe kitchen practices
- Monitor food quality and presentation before serving
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and compliance with health and safety regulations
Requirements
- At least two years cooking experience
- Ability to cook both deep-fried items and Chinese-style stir-fries
- Hard-working, reliable, and able to work under pressure
- Able to work evenings and weekends as required
- Good communication and teamwork skills
