Full-time | Permanent | $130,000 – $140,000 + Annual Bonus

About the Opportunity

As Clinical Charge Nurse, you’ll work closely with the Nurse Unit Manager to coordinate and elevate all inpatient and community nursing services — ensuring care delivery that’s safe, dignified, and compassionate.

You’ll be trusted to make key decisions, lead a multidisciplinary team, and foster a culture of quality, learning, and respect.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day clinical leadership across inpatient and community services
  • Mentor, guide, and develop nurses and healthcare assistants within a values-based framework
  • Drive safe staffing, rosters, and workforce planning aligned to patient needs
  • Oversee admissions, discharges, and patient flow — ensuring seamless coordination
  • Lead quality and safety initiatives, audits, and continuous improvement activities
  • Model best practice in clinical decision-making and cultural responsiveness
  • Collaborate closely with allied health, medical, and leadership teams to deliver holistic care

About You

You’ll bring:

  • Current NZ Nursing Council registration & practising certificate
  • Postgraduate qualification in Advanced Nursing or Palliative Care
  • Expert PDRP level with significant clinical leadership experience
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage performance, and drive quality improvement
  • Strength in communication, empathy, and clinical judgement
  • Confident handling workforce planning, resource allocation, and audits
  • Passion for coaching others and maintaining high clinical standards
