Commerce Street Fish Shop are located in Kawerau. We are looking for cook
 to work in our takeaway specializing in fresh curries and traditional fish and chips. We focus on quality ingredients, authentic flavors, and excellent customer service. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced cook to join our team and help us maintain high standards in our kitchen.

Position-Cook

Location - Kawerau, Bay of Plenty

Hours- 30 to 40 per week

Pay rate-$25 to $30

As a cook, you will carry out the following tasks:

Plan and organise food preparation and cooking activities.

Wash, cut, and prepare vegetables, meats, and fish for cooking.

Prepare spice mixes, sauces, pastes, and marinades for curries.

Cook a variety of curries using proper seasoning and traditional techniques.

Operate deep fryers to prepare fish and chips.

Presentation of meals in an attractive manner.

Ensure customer satisfaction through food quality and presentation.

Ensure proper portion control to reduce waste and maintain cost efficiency.

Implement proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.

Conduct regular training and inspections to maintain a safe workingenvironment.

Ensure kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards meet orexceed local health regulations.

Skills and knowledge requirements:-

At least 1 year of experience at New Zealand-based restaurants or aNZQA level 4 qualification in the relevant fi eld.

Understanding of food preparation to perfection and presented inan appealing manner.

Good verbal communication skills.

Good understanding of culinary trends and kitchen operations.

The ability to work additional hours and under pressure.

Good Personal hygiene.
