Carejobz Recruitment is partnering with one of Auckland’s leading private hospitals to recruit an exceptional Clinical Nurse Advisor for their Advanced Nursing Team.
This position is perfect for a senior critical care nurse who thrives on autonomy, clinical complexity, and keeping hospital operations running safely after-hours.
About the Role
This is an after-hours “duty manager” style role, acting as the senior clinical decision-maker on site. You’ll oversee hospital operations, support nursing teams, ensure safe staffing, and respond to emergencies and clinical escalations across multiple departments.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide after-hours senior clinical leadership and hospital-wide oversight
- Support nurses with escalation pathways, deteriorating patients, and complex clinical decisions
- Manage staffing movements and patient flow across wards
- Liaise with on-call managers, clinicians, and specialists
- Ensure safety, quality, and high standards of care are upheld throughout the hospital

What You’ll Need
Senior Critical Care Experience
Experience in ICU, HDU, CCU, ED, PACU, or other acute specialities within a New Zealand or Australian hospital is essential.
Confident Clinical Leadership
Ability to lead, mentor, support decision-making, and manage complex situations calmly.
Excellent Clinical Judgement
Strong assessment skills, escalation confidence, and the ability to remain steady under pressure.
Current NZ Nursing Registration
