We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Bar Manager to oversee the full range of restaurant and customer service functions. This role involves managing daily operations, supervising staff, maintaining service standards, and ensuring a high quality customer experience across all areas of the business.

Job Description

We are looking for a Bar Manager for our Arranged Marriage South Indian Restaurant in Palmerston North. Must be eligible to apply for and maintain a liquor license. A minimum one year experience or relevant qualification is required for this position.

Pay rate will be between 30$ to 35$ per hour depending on experience, 32 hours per week.

What you will be doing day-to-day:

• Organise and control the daily operations of the restaurant  to ensure efficient service delivery and a high-quality customer experience.
• Plan menus in consultation with Chefs, organise special functions, and manage the purchasing and pricing of goods within budget.
• Determine product mix, stock levels and service standards, maintain records of stock and financial transactions, and undertake budgeting for all operational areas.
• Promote and advertise the establishment’s goods and services, sell light snacks, and advise customers on product selection and use.
• Collect payments, operate cash registers accurately, take reservations, greet guests and assist with order-taking when required.
• Confer with customers to assess satisfaction with meals, beverages and service, and implement after-sales service to enhance customer experience.
• Develop and review customer service procedures, liaise with internal teams and customers to meet expectations, and respond to service issues promptly.
• Recruit, train, supervise and motivate bar,  kitchen, retail and customer service staff to maintain consistent service standards and operational efficiency.
