We are seeking a reliable Cook to join our dynamic and fast-paced kitchen team. The ideal candidates will have experience preparing Vietnamese cuisine, a strong passion for food, and the ability to thrive in a busy, customer-focused environment. You will be responsible for daily food preparation, cooking, and ensuring all dishes meet high standards of taste, hygiene, and presentation. You should also be a fast learner and able to work cooperatively with other cooks to ensure the kitchen operates efficiently.
What we offer:
A Full-time permanent role - 40 minimum guaranteed work hour per week
The rate of pay or salary: $25.00 - $27.00 /hr. before tax
Key Responsibilities and tasks
- Prepare and cook lunch and dinner menu items according to recipes and standards
- Set up and stock kitchen with all necessary ingredients and cooking equipment.
- Work cooperatively with senior cooks to prepare and cook dishes, while paying close attention to inventory levels and identifying any shortages.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations in accordance with food safety regulations.
- Assist with prep work, portioning, and storing food properly
- Ensure food is presented attractively and consistently.
- Follow food hygiene and safety procedures at all times.
- Work efficiently to meet customer demand during peak hours.
Requirements and skills:
- A minimum of two years’ relevant experience as a cook or in a similar kitchen role, preferably with Vietnamese or Asian cuisine.
- Highly proficient in cooking techniques with a solid and comprehensive understanding of food safety practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Availability to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekdays, weekends, and public holidays, as operationally required.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- A positive attitude and team-focused mindset
