We are looking to recruit one Motel Manager to oversee the motel's daily operation.  The position is full-time permanent with a guarantee of at least 30 hours (or more) per week.

Hours of work will be on a roster between 35 - 40 hours per week.  Work hours are usually between 9 am to 7 pm.  You may need to work on the weekend and public holidays.  The pay rate will be between NZD 29 to 32 per hour.

Duties will include:

• Oversee daily operations of BK's Magnolia Motor Lodge, including front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance.
• Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by addressing guest inquiries, resolving complaints, and maintaining excellent service standards.
• Recruit, train, and manage a team of housekeeping staff, receptionists, and maintenance workers, ensuring efficient work schedules and performance.
• Monitor and control budgets, expenses, and revenue, implementing cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality standards.
• Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of all facilities, coordinate necessary repairs, and oversee laundry services.
• Address guest inquiries, resolve complaints, and act as the main point of contact for guest-related issues.
• Provide local tourism information and assist with guest transportation arrangements.
• Implement marketing plans to attract new guests and retain returning customers.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and legal regulations.

Position expectations:

• Relevant tertiary degree qualification holder
• Some relevant work experience
• Ability to speak fluent English
• Strong knowledge of website and digital marketing will be an advantage
• Good character, a friendly attitude, and display a positive, “lead by example” attitude
