ZHANGLIANG MALATANG located on Dominion Road, Auckland, is looking for 1 full-time Cook specialized in Chinese Cuisine to join us. This is a full-time position where you will work for a minimum of 30 hours per week.

Key tasks:

  • Inspect food ingredients to ensure quality and identify any signs of spoilage or contamination;
  • Prepare ingredients for cooking by performing tasks such as slicing raw meat and washing vegetables;
  • Add appropriate seasonings such as salt, sugar, and vinegar during cooking as required by each dish;
  • Participate in the development and improvement of menus to enhance food quality and customer satisfaction;
  • Provide training and guidance to new kitchen staff to ensure operational consistency and standards;
  • Identify the correct storage requirements for various raw materials and store them properly in the refrigerator or deep freezer accordingly;
  • Operate various kitchen equipment based on the cooking method and requirements of each specific dish;
  • Follow any additional instructions or tasks assigned by head chefs or management.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of relevant work experience, OR
  • A relevant qualification at NZQCF level 4 or higher
  • Clean police certificate and physically fit
