PAG Limited is seeking a skilled and reliable Chinese Cuisine Cook to join our team in Oamaru. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking authentic Chinese dishes in accordance with established recipes and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepared and cook a variety of traditional and contemporary Chinese dishes according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Perform preparatory tasks, including washing, chopping, marinating and mixing ingredients.
- Operate kitchen equipment, including woks, steamers, rice cookers, and deep fryers.
- Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion size throughout preparation and service.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils.
- Conduct stocktakes and assist in ordering ingredients and supplies as needed.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and health regulations.
- Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Two years of relevant experience as a cook or in a similar role in a professional kitchen.
- Knowledge of traditional Chinese cooking techniques and ingredients is preferred.
- Knowledge of food-handling techniques, preparation, and cooking procedures.
- Must be able to work well as part of a team.
- Must be able to work well under pressure.
- Ability to maintain personal and workplace cleanliness and hygiene.
