About the Role
We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic Café Managers to lead our teams and contribute to the continued growth and success of the business. The ideal candidates will have strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a hands-on approach to managing daily operations.
This role requires a high level of customer service, the ability to manage and motivate staff, and sound knowledge of the hospitality industry. The successful applicants will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day functions of the café, implementing business strategies, and ensuring a high standard of service is maintained at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of the café efficiently and effectively.
- Plan menus in collaboration with staff, ensuring alignment with customer preferences and brand identity.
- Recruit, train, and supervise front-of-house and kitchen staff.
- Monitor customer feedback and implement service improvements where required.
- Manage bookings, welcome guests, and assist with customer service duties when necessary.
- Ensure full compliance with all relevant health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and food display.
- Advise customers on Japanese food products and manage the procurement of stock.
- Develop and implement business development strategies aimed at increasing profitability and customer engagement.
- Identify and pursue new business growth opportunities.
- Manage inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock while minimising waste.
- Plan and execute marketing and promotional initiatives to attract and retain customers.
- Manage and regularly update the online delivery platform menu (e.g., Uber Eats).
Job Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess the following qualifications, experience, and attributes:
- A relevant qualification in business, management, administration or hospitality, or a minimum of two years’ of relevant work experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, and marketing skills.
- A proactive, self-motivated, and solution-focused attitude.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure in a dynamic environment.
- Sound knowledge of hospitality operations and customer service standards.
- Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and variable shifts, as the café operates seven days a week.
