E&P Holdings 2017 Limited operates a popular Indian restaurant at the heart of Taupo. We serve dishes in their natural taste and appearance, which gives a new outlook to relevant cuisine. We are looking for suitable candidates to join us for the following position:

 Applicants Requirements;

 *Flexibility is a requirement of this position. The weekly hours of work may vary, but will normally be worked between 9 am to 11 pm

*Proven cooking experience in relevant cuisine with a minimum of 3 years’ experience. *Must be available to work during the evening, weekends, and school holidays, Public holidays

 Pay Rate

 *$25-$30 per hour, depending on the experience

Duties and Responsibilities:

 *The curry and Tandoori cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, safe, eye-appealing, and properly flavoured food and for assisting in kitchen management. The specific task includes;

* Preparing, seasoning, cooking and plating curry/tandoori dishes to order;

* Ensuring that food is prepared and served properly and on time;

* Assisting management in menu planning and pricing as required;

 * Preparation of tea and coffee;

* Maintaining stringent operating standards and procedures;

 * Maintaining kitchen storage areas in a clean, hygienic and organised manner in compliance with relevant health codes;

* Ensuring the safe and correct use of machinery and equipment’s

* Assisting management in the inventory and ordering of supplies;

* Liaising with front house staff at all times to ensure smooth service; Substituting for the Head Chef in his/her absence;

* Supervising and instructing junior kitchen staff;

 * Set up and stock with all necessary supplies.

 * Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.

* Answer, report and follow the executive or chef’s instructions.

* Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers; Passion for cooking;

 * Ability to work with quality and efficiency in a calm, mature manner;

Hours of work:

• Full-time, Min - 30 hrs per week guaranteed, Monday – Sunday (Rostered)

 • Under normal circumstances, you will be entitled to at least 1 day a week off.

 • You will work overtime when the employer reasonably requires it.
