We are seeking a health professional either RN or Allied Health Professional to train and work as a Heart Screening Technician for a rheumatic heart disease echocardiography screening study. This role supports early detection in school-based programmes.

The role

  • Perform heart screening echo scans (training provided)
  • Work with children in school settings
  • Follow study and screening protocols
  • Travel within New Zealand as required

Locations & duration

  • Auckland: approx. 6 months starting mid-late January
  • Bay of Plenty & Lakes: approx. 6 months from around July onwards (Travel and accommodation would be covered)
  • Potential extension beyond 12 months

Hours

  • Scanning delivered in 1–3 week blocks
  • Not full-time every week
  • Hours flexible and negotiable

About you

  • Health background (e.g. nurse or allied health professional)
  • Experience with rheumatic fever and/or rheumatic heart disease preferred
  • Experience working with children
  • Exposure to ultrasound scanning or working with sonographers an advantage
  • Willingness to travel within NZ
