Position Title: Food & Beverage Attendant

NZD $23.50 PER HOUR
Role Overview:
Ashley Hotel Greymouth is seeking an experienced Food & Beverage Attendant capable of working independently across restaurant, bar, conference, and room service operations in a high-demand hospitality environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Deliver food and beverage service across restaurant, bar, conference, and event areas
• Operate POS systems, manage cash handling, and reconcile daily transactions
• Prepare and serve alcoholic beverages in compliance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act
• Carry out heavy lifting, prolonged standing, and repetitive physical tasks
• Maintain strict hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards at all times
• Set up and pack down conference rooms and large group functions
• Manage customer complaints independently and professionally
• Work without direct supervision during quiet and peak periods
• Perform additional duties as required by management
Skills, Experience, and Requirements:
Mandatory Requirements:
• Minimum 2–3 years of full-time Food & Beverage experience in a hotel environment
• Proven experience working alone on shifts
• Strong knowledge of bar service, restaurant service, and conference functions
• Ability to work all weekends, public holidays, and late-night shifts
• Availability for split shifts and last-minute roster changes
• High level of physical fitness due to manual handling requirements
• Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written)
• Must hold or be able to obtain an LCQ and Duty Manager Certificate
• Must have own reliable transport (no public transport available for late shifts)
