Job Advert – Hotel Accommodation Manager

We are on the lookout for an energetic Hotel Manager to oversee the smooth and efficient operation of our hotel. You will be passionate about hospitality, highly customer-focused, and proactive in managing daily operations to ensure an outstanding guest experience.

This is a permanent full-time position, guaranteed minimum 30 hours per week, based in Christchurch, Canterbury. The pay rate ranges from $30 to $35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the smooth running of the hotel and all day-to-day operations
  • Ensure high standards of guest service, accommodation quality, and presentation
  • Manage reservations, front desk operations, housekeeping, and guest services
  • Set budgets, monitor expenses, and manage financial performance in line with business targets and handling accounts receivables and payables
  • Monitor room rates, occupancy levels, and revenue to maximise profitability
  • Liaise with suppliers and contractors to ensure efficient delivery of goods and services
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hospitality regulations
  • Manage cash handling, invoicing, and accurate record-keeping
  • Handle guest enquiries, feedback, and complaints in a professional and timely manner
  • Recruit, train, roster, and supervise hotel staff
  • Lead and motivate staff to achieve service and performance standards
  • Maintain the hotel premises to a clean, safe, and presentable standard at all times

To be successful you will need to:

  • Have at least minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar hospitality role, OR hold a relevant Diploma or higher qualification in Hospitality Management, Business, Management, or a related field
  • Be highly customer-focused with excellent communication skills
  • Be a team player with a positive “can-do” attitude
  • Be flexible to work across roasters, weekends and public holidays as required
