We are looking for 1 dedicated baker for our bustling cafe based in Bishopdale, Christchurch. This is a full-time and permanent position. We guarantee a minimum of 30 hours per week. You will need to work according to the roster, including weekends, so availability to work during weekends is essential.

Your tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring the cleanliness of the bakery equipment and premise.
  • Baking required daily levels of bread, rolls and other bakery products.
  • Properly checking the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredients.
  • Preparing pastry fillings and minimising wastage.
  • Baking, icing, and decorating bakeries for customer orders as well as for display.
  • Producing other bakery-specific products as required.
  • Receive inwards goods, ensuring products meet Food Safety requirements.
  • Monitoring oven temperatures, operating the baking machine, and coordinating the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panningand cooling of batches of bread, rolls and pastry products.

Requirements:

  • 2 years of relevant experience or a relevant Level 4 qualification is preferred.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and reference checkfrom previous employer.
