Position: Assistant Café Manager
Pay Rate: $26.00 – $30.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Position Type: Full-time (Minimum 30 hours per week)

About the Role:

FreshChoice Cromwell is seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Café Manager to support the day-to-day operations of our in-store café. The successful applicant will assist with supervising staff, maintaining customer service standards, and ensuring smooth and efficient café operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Café Manager with daily café operations and staff supervision.

• Allocate duties to staff and provide guidance during shifts.

• Ensure high standards of customer service and handle customer enquiries or concerns professionally.

• Assist with stock control, ordering supplies, and monitoring inventory levels.

• Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, and company policies.

• Monitor food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and overall café standards.

• Support staff training, induction, and performance monitoring.

• Assist with opening and closing procedures, including basic cash handling where required.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a café, takeaway, or retail environment in an assistant manager or supervisory role or a relevant qualification

• Strong team leadership and staff coordination skills.

• Good communication, organisational, and time management skills.

• Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and public holidays as required.

• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards is an advantage.
