Position Details:
We required one full time permanent position, offering a guaranteed 30 to 40 hours per week. The work hours are scheduled between 5 am and 4 pm, Monday to Sunday. While weekends and some public holidays (excluding Christmas and New Year) will be part of your schedule to align with our business operations.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake a wide variety of bakery products including breads, rolls, pastries, cakes, pies, and doughnuts according to recipes and production schedules.
- Inspect and clean all bakery equipment and machinery before and after production, ensuring compliance with food safety and occupational health regulations.
- Check the quality of raw materials and ingredients, accurately weighing and measuring to meet recipe and production requirements.
- Mix, knead, mould, cut, and shape doughs and pastry products using both manual methods and machinery.
- Prepare and manage pastry fillings and production processes independently to ensure consistency and quality.
- Monitor and regulate oven temperatures, bake products in batches, and ensure correct baking times for optimal results.
- Apply decorative finishes including icing, glazes, and cream to cakes, pastries, buns, and other baked goods.
- Operate and maintain baking machinery.
- Manage ingredient inventory by monitoring freshness, rotating stock, and maintaining appropriate levels for production demand.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following strict food hygiene standards, cleaning equipment, greasing trays, and ensuring tools are properly stored.
- Perform basic machinery maintenance and ensure all tools and equipment are in safe working condition.
Qualification/Work experience:
- At least two years of relevant work experience as a baker/pastrycook, or pastrycook’s assistant in a bakery, café, restaurant, hotel, or similar establishment, OR
- A relevant level 4 qualification
The pay would be $25 per hour to $35 per hour depending on your skill level and work experience.
The successful candidate must be able to pass a drug test and have a clean criminal record.
