Kate at Carejobz Recruitment is recruiting for a senior leadership opportunity within a modern, expanding retirement village that combines independent living with hospital and rest home level care.

The village also includes 16 independent living villas, with construction commencing shortly on 36 additional villas, taking the total to 52 independent living villas.

You will hold full accountability for village operations and the care facility, supported by a dedicated Clinical Manager within the care environment. This allows the role to operate at a true general management level, balancing clinical governance, commercial performance, people leadership, and sales.

The role

This is a dual-portfolio leadership position responsible for delivering safe, compliant care while driving strong business and financial outcomes.

You will be accountable for:

  • End-to-end operational management of the village and care facility

  • Clinical governance in partnership with clinical leadership

  • Financial performance, profitability, and occupancy

  • Sales activity and engagement with prospective residents and families

  • Building, developing, and retaining a high-performing multidisciplinary team

  • Resident experience, satisfaction, and stakeholder relationships

  • Leading change initiatives, including service changes and development activity

  • Health, safety, and wellbeing across the village

This role requires a leader who is equally comfortable in front of residents and families as they are managing teams, budgets, and compliance.

Key requirements

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing

  • Current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)

  • 5+ years’ experience in the retirement and aged care sector or a comparable health environment

  • 5+ years in a senior operational management role within a people-led business

  • Proven leadership experience across multidisciplinary teams

  • Strong business and financial acumen, with accountability for performance outcomes

  • Experience supporting and driving sales and resales within a village or care setting

  • Confidence managing resident and family relationships, including feedback and complaints

  • Strong understanding of regulatory obligations, including Health and Disability standards and Health and Safety at Work requirements

  • Experience leading quality systems, operational processes, and continuous improvement

  • Supplier and contractor management experience across multiple service categories

  • Confidence using digital systems and operational tools

Desirable:

  • Relevant postgraduate qualification

  • Experience working with community agencies and health sector stakeholders

Why this role stands out

This is a rare opportunity to step into a high-impact leadership role within a well-established village that is entering a period of growth and transformation. The outgoing leader has set a strong foundation, and the role offers genuine scope to influence culture, performance, and resident experience.

This role will suit an experienced aged care leader who brings clinical credibility, commercial confidence, and an engaging leadership style.
