Job Title: Kitchen Hand – Eden Alley Korean Restaurant

Days Required: Rotating roster across 7 days, including weekends (restaurant open daily for lunch and dinner service; closes at 10:00 PM)
Hours Per Week: Minimum 30 hours, up to 40 hours per week
Hourly Rate: $25 – $30 per hour (depending on experience and skill level)
Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Hand to join our team at Eden Alley Korean Restaurant. This role plays a vital part in supporting our kitchen operations and contributing to the preparation of authentic Korean cuisine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist chefs with food preparation, including washing, chopping, and portioning ingredients
- Cook and prepare food items as part of daily kitchen operations
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene
- Participate in menu development by contributing ideas, assisting with trial dishes, and providing feedback
- Ensure all kitchen surfaces, cooking utensils, and food preparation areas are kept clean and sanitised throughout the day
- Operate dishwashing equipment and hand-wash dishes, pots, and pans as required
- Maintain proper storage of food items, dry goods, and cleaning supplies
- Assist with receiving, unpacking, and storing food deliveries
- Monitor and dispose of kitchen waste according to hygiene and safety protocols
- Work efficiently as part of a team during busy lunch and dinner services
- Follow food safety and health regulations at all times
Job Prerequisites:
- At least one year of relevant work experience
- Sound understanding of a range of authentic Korean cuisines, ingredients, and cooking methods
- Availability to work weekends and public holidays
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills and a strong work ethic
- Must be able to follow health and safety regulations
- Police check required
