Position Type: Full-time (Guaranteed 30 hours per week)
Salary: $27–$32 per hour
We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Restaurant Manager to oversee operations at our Indian restaurant in Christchurch. This role requires an individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining high standards of restaurant management. You’ll work alongside a dynamic team to ensure the restaurant runs smoothly, efficiently, and profitably.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Greet guests, assist with reservations, and ensure all guests enjoy an excellent dining experience. Handle any customer complaints swiftly and professionally.
- Event Planning: Organise and plan special functions, catering to client needs and ensuring smooth service.
- Menu Planning: Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop and refine menu offerings, in line with customer preferences and restaurant standards.
- Stock Management: Track inventory, monitor stock levels, and manage timely orders to ensure a consistent supply of ingredients and materials.
- Financial Oversight: Monitor sales data, process information for budgeting, and help with financial forecasting.
- Team Management: Recruit, train, motivate, and lead a team of staff, ensuring high morale and excellent customer service.
- Compliance: Maintain compliance with Health and Safety standards, ensuring cleanliness and sanitary practices across the restaurant.
- Liquor Sales Management: Responsible for the sale and supply of liquor, maintaining adherence to licensing laws and protocols.
- Quality Control: Oversee food preparation and kitchen standards to ensure all meals meet the restaurant’s quality expectations.
About You:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of 1 year’s relevant experience or a relevant qualification at Level 4 or above.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to drive business growth and customer loyalty.
- A dynamic personality with the energy and leadership qualities to motivate a team.
- A passion for delivering high-quality food and a commitment to maintaining top-notch standards.
- A current General Manager’s Certificate with Liquor Licence qualification (LQC) preferred but not essential.
