The Raspberry Cafe, a well-loved local establishment in Tai Tapu, Canterbury, is seeking an experienced and passionate Cafe Manager to lead our team and oversee the day-to-day and strategic operations of the cafe.
This full-time role is an excellent opportunity for a motivated hospitality professional to make their mark in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all aspects of café operations including staff management, inventory control, financial performance, and compliance with Health & Safety and the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012

Lead, train, and motivate a team of baristas, front-of-house, and kitchen staff to deliver exceptional customer service

Develop and implement strategies to drive sales, improve efficiency, and strengthen the café’s reputation within the local community

Manage budgets, analyse financial reports, and make informed decisions to maximise profitability

Foster a positive and supportive team culture through coaching and staff development

Recruit, train, and manage front-of-house and kitchen staff

Monitor industry trends and customer preferences to maintain a competitive edge

Engage with customers, gather feedback, and continually improve the dining experience

Assist with menu planning in consultation with the chefs
Candidate Requirements:

Honest, reliable, and punctual

Able to work weekends and rostered shifts

Drug-free with a clean criminal history

Well-presented, clean, and tidy

Reliable transport and ability to commute, as the business operates 7 days a week
Experience / Qualifications:

Relevant Level 5 Certificate or Diploma, or

Minimum 2 years’ relevant hospitality management experience
Hours & Position:

Full-time, permanent role

Minimum 30 hours per week
Pay Rate:
-
$25 – $28 per hour (depending on experience)
