Job Title: Duty Manager x 2 Positions

Pay Rate: $25 to $29 per hour

Days of Work: Mon to Sunday

Hours of work: Min 30 to 40 hours per week

The Brown Pub/Blue Pub is a local favourite in the heart of Methven offering great food, comfortable accommodation and friendly service. With a proud history of serving locals and visitors alike, we provide a lively, community-driven hospitality experience and are looking for a Duty Manager.

We operate as a bar, restaurant, bottle store, TAB, pokies and accommodation, providing a full-service venue for both locals and tourists. Situated at the gateway to Mt Hutt and Canterbury’s alpine region, The Brown Pub/Blue Pub is a cornerstone of Methven’s vibrant hospitality scene and an exciting place to develop your career in venue management.

Your main tasks will be:

·        Serving the customers with great help and making sure that they receive prompt service

·        Assist in staff management including recruitment and training of staff to maintain adequate staffing levels

·        Creating work schedules for staffs

·        Dealing with customers and gathering feedback to improve our venue offerings

·        Checking on customer feedback and responding them professionally

·        Determining purchasing requirements and policies

·        Examining the stock levels and ordering stock beforehand to ensure adequate stock supplies at all times

·        Handling banking transactions

·        Ensuring compliance with the health and safety provisions and organising staff training if required

·        Be responsible and act as in-charge of the store in the absence of the restaurant manager

·        Any other duties that may be asked from time to time

You will need the following skills:

·        Relevant work experience of at least 1 year OR qualification

·        Duty Manager’s certificate required

·        Proven leadership abilities and driving a team to success 

·        Outgoing and encouraging personality 

·        Passionate about the retail and long-term career in retail

·        Ability to provide at least two positive references

·        Physically fit and healthy

·        Well organized and passionate about the job

·        Must have clean criminal history

·        Must pass pre-employment checks if required

Must be able to work splits shifts, weekend, public  holidays, late nights
