Position Title: Cook
Number of Positions: 2
Location: Te Teko, Bay of Plenty
Pay Rate: $25 to $30 / Per Hour
Hours of Work: 30 – 40 hours per week

 

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working as cook, or kitchen hand duties
  • OR Level 4 qualification.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, season, and cook a range of menu items offered by the lunchbar.
  • Assist with daily food preparation including chopping, marinating, portioning, and setting up cooking stations.
  • Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards to maintain food quality.
  • Monitor cooking processes, temperatures, and timing to ensure consistency.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen in accordance with food safety regulations.
  • Ensure proper storage, rotation, and handling of food items.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and report maintenance needs.
  • Maintain basic kitchen records including cleaning logs and food preparation records.
  • Support smooth daily operations during busy service times.
  • Assist in training or guiding new or junior staff when required.
