We are looking for a manager and cook for our General store, Cafe and Takeaway located in Waikuku beach.
A competent and skilled Manager is required for our General store, Cafe and Takeaway located in Waikuku beach.
It is a very busy store and we require someone confident to run the store efficiently.
You will be required to work atleast 30 hours every week. Weekend work is compulsory. The pay rate will be $28 to $32.
Some of your duties would include:
- Manage day-to-day store activities, including opening and closing procedures.
- Create employee schedules and assign duties.
- Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate store employees.
- Manage the store's budget and control expenses.
- Monitor stock levels and order new products to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Manage product placement, pricing, and displays.
- Oversee cash handling procedures and reconcile sales.
- Develop and implement sales strategies, promotions, and marketing campaigns to drive revenue.
- Ensure a high level of customer service is provided by all staff.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues.
- Ensure the store is clean, organized, and safe for both customers and employees.
- Implement loss prevention measures and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Foster a positive work environment and ensure staff follow company policies.
Ideally, we require the candidate to have at least 1 year of work experience or minimum of level 4 qualification, a full and clean Class 1 Drivers license and No criminal record.
We are also looking for a cook for our takeaway business. You will be required to work at least 30 hours per week. You pay rate will be $25 to $29.
Some of your duties would include:
- Plan and organise food preparation and cooking activities.
- Design menus, manage kitchen budget, including food cost, labor cost, and equipment maintenance.
- Presentation of meals in an attractive manner.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through food quality and presentation.
- Train and guide other staff in techniques and cooking procedures.
- Implement proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
- Conduct regular training and inspections to maintain a safe working environment.
- Ensure kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards meet or exceed local health regulations.
- Undertake customer service responsibilities as required when kitchen production demands allow, ensuring smooth overall operations.
Skills and knowledge requirements: -
- At least 1 year of experience or a NZQA level 4 qualification in the relevant field.
- Understanding of food preparation to perfection and presented in an appealing manner.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Good understanding of culinary trends and kitchen operations.
- The ability to work additional hours and under pressure.
- Good Personal hygiene.
