Role: Caregiver

We are hiring an Experienced Caregiver.  Golden Pond Private Hospital, independently owned and operated since 1989,, has been proudly serving the Eastern Bay of Plenty community with compassionate, high-quality care.   With long-term staff members of over 20 years’ service, the 61-bed facility offers both private hospital and palliative care in a modern purpose-built environment close to the Whakatane township.

 

Key Responsibilities:

-         Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.

-         Support residents with meal preparation and feeding.

-         Administer and remind residents of medication under supervision.

-         Perform light household duties such as laundry and tidying

-         Maintain resident confidentiality and respect their privacy.

-         Report ant changes in a resident’s condition to the registered duty nurse.

-         Work a minimum of 30 hours and up to 40 hours per week on a rotating roster.

-         Pay rate: $26.16-$30 per hour depending on relevant experience (paid fortnightly).

Essential Requirements:

-         At least 2 years of relevant experience.

-         Level 2 Qualification or higher in Health and Wellbeing (or equivalent).

-         Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.

-         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

-         Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

-         Must be legally eligible to work in New Zealand.
