About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Restaurant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our restaurants. - Position: Restaurant Manager
- Employment type: Full-time, Permanent
- Remuneration: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour
- Location: This role requires the successful candidate to work across both Dunedin and Christchurch locations.
- Hours of work: Minimum of 30 hours per week
- Working days & times: 7 days per week, rostered shifts between 6 AM – 5 AM
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and coordinate daily front-of-house and back-of-house operations
- Ensure high standards of food quality, service, and customer satisfaction are consistently met
- Manage staff recruitment, training, performance, and rostering
- Maintain stock levels, order supplies, and liaise with suppliers
- Monitor and manage budgets, wage costs, and financial performance
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints professionally and promptly
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and hygiene regulations
- Develop and implement strategies to improve service and increase revenue
- Coordinate marketing and promotional activities as needed
- Prepare reports on sales, customer feedback, and operational issues
- Assist with administrative duties, including banking, payroll, and invoicing
- Perform other related duties as required
About You
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in a management or hospitality role; OR
- A diploma in a relevant field OR,
- A bachelor’s degree in any field, demonstrating key skills such as problem-solving, communication, time management, leadership, teamwork, learning agility, adaptability, professionalism, and accountability
- A solid understanding of food safety regulations and workplace health and safety standards
- Experience with Thai cuisine or in an Asian dining environment is an advantage
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including work early mornings, late nights, weekends, and public holidays as required
- Strong communication skills, reliability, and a positive work ethic.
