538 Great King Motel is a well-established accommodation provider located in Dunedin, offering comfortable and affordable stays for both domestic and international guests. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Motel Manager to oversee day-to-day operations, manage staff, and ensure the smooth and efficient running of the motel.

As a Motel Manager, you will be required to work a minimum of 30 hours per week on a rostered schedule. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate day-to-day motel operations, including reservations, front desk, room service, and housekeeping.

  • Supervise property maintenance, public area care, and ensure effective security procedures are in place.

  • Manage on-site room services and coordinate small events, group reservations, if applicable.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations/laws and occupational health and safety standards.

  • Monitor guest satisfaction and respond to feedback to maintain high standards of service.

  • Handle accounting tasks such as budgeting, invoicing, payroll, and manage purchasing and inventory control.

  • Provide local tourism information and assist guests with booking tours or transportation as required.

  • Responsible for recruiting, supervising, and training motel staff to ensure efficient and courteous service delivery.

About you

  • At least three years of relevant industrial work experience, or
  • Relevant NZQCF Diploma or above qualification, majoring in Hospitality Management, Tourism Management, Business Management, or Business Administration
  • Physically fit with a clear criminal record
