The Ottoman prides itself to be the tastiest Turkish restaurant in Rangiora with a relaxed ambience and a great culinary experience in Mediterranean and Turkish cuisine. Our restaurant is open 7 days a week from 10.30 am to 9 pm. We have a capacity of around 60 seating patrons, takeaways and deliveries on top of that.

We are looking to employ cooks to work in our busy kitchen.

Your Responsibilities will be:

  • Prepare and cook menu dishes, including kebabs, grilled meats, salads, sides, and other Turkish cuisine items
  • Prepare marinades for meat dishes, cut, season and marinate chicken, lamb and other meats for kebabs and grill dishes, operate grills, chargrills, skewers and other hot equipment to cook kebabs and meats
  • Prepare accompaniments — chop vegetables, make salads, sauces, dips (like yoghurt or garlic sauces), and prepare sides (e.g., fries, rice)
  • Collaborate with the restaurant manager, chefs, kitchenhands, and waiting staff on food-related matters
  • Enforce hygiene regulations

You would have:

-        At least 1 year or more of work experience or a Level 4 certificate in cookery

-        Punctual, organised & capable of multi-tasking with attention to detail.

-        Able to work holidays, evenings and weekends. You will be rostered.

-        New Zealand resident visa or citizenship
