Nga kawenga matua o te mahi – key responsibilities of the role
Purapura Whetū Trust are seeking a Kaimahi with a background and associated qualification / registration in counselling practice who is passionate and skilled in working with whaiora who experience AOD and Mental Health challenges.
If making a difference in the lives of whaiora in a role that is counselling specific and embraces Te Ao Māori practice this role is for you.
You will work in partnership with adult whaiora and their wider supports ,applying your counselling skills to promote healing ,address individual challenges , identify needs and develop strategies to achieve realistic Hauora outcomes.
Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu – What you will bring
- Relevant tertiary qualification and professional registration (can be provisionally registered) in counselling , psychology , family therapy , psychotherapy or related field
- Experience in working with adults in counselling contexts is and essential requirement of the role
- Recent experience working with whaiora with mental health and addiction challenges
- Commitment to working within a Kaupapa Maori organisation, applying Matauranga Modalities in practice
- Proven skills in clinical assessment, clinical planning and intervention.
- The ability to work both independently and team environment.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with whānau and community
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Full NZ Drivers licence with clean Police Check and Vulnerable childrens check
