We are looking for a Thai restaurant manager to join our team.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of related work experience 

  • At least a related NZ Register Diploma Level 5 qualification may substitute for the experience

  • Must have a Licence Controller Qualification approved by NZQA

  • Must have work experience in the customer service field

  • Must have knowledge of Thai food ingredients as we take food allergies seriously

Job Descriptions

  • Designing menus in collaboration with the chefs

  • Organising and managing special events and functions

  • Overseeing the daily operations of both front-of-house and kitchen teams

  • Managing the purchasing and pricing of supplies within budget limits

  • Keeping accurate records of inventory and financial activities

  • Monitoring operating expenses and introducing ways to reduce waste

  • Forecasting future requirements for ingredients, equipment, and cleaning materials

  • Checking product quality regularly and sourcing new suppliers when needed

  • Making sure the dining area meets health standards and is clean, safe, and well-presented

  • Providing excellent customer service and ensuring guest satisfaction with food and service

  • Handling customer complaints promptly and professionally

  • Recruiting, training, and supervising service and kitchen staff

  • Scheduling and overseeing staff shifts

  • Marketing the restaurant within the local community

  • Establishing and enforcing policies and procedures to support ongoing operations

  • Assisting with reservations, welcoming guests, and taking food and drink orders

Other Details

  • This is a full-time and permanent position

  • Wages will range between $25 and $35 per hour, depending on your skills and experience, and will be paid weekly.

  • Holiday pay and sick leave will be paid according to the law

  • You will be working at 69 Beach Street, Queenstown

  • You will work according to a roster 5 - 6 days each week, with a guarantee of 30 hours (a maximum of 48 hours)
