Do you want to be part of a team doing the best food in town. We are looking for One Cook for our business in Hastings, Hawke’s Bay.

We guarantee a minimum of 30 hours per week with competitive rates between $28 and $34p/h depending on your skills.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

examining foodstuffs to ensure quality

regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment

preparing and cooking food

seasoning food during cooking

portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes

storing food in temperature-controlled facilities

preparing food to meet special dietary requirements

may plan menus and estimate food requirements

may train other kitchen staff and apprentices

Essential skills and attributes required:

Experience working in a cooking environment is highly desirable

Willingness to learn and be upward moving is essential.

Naturally enjoys being around people and contributing to a positive work environment.

Efficient, accurate and a strong appreciation for following systems

Consistent performance no matter the pressure from guests, team, and outside influences

Good communication skills 

Applicants must have at least two years of experience or a Level 4 (certificate) or higher qualification in cookery, hospitality or any other relevant field.
