Little India Restaurant is looking for two experienced and passionate Indian Curry & Tandoor Cooks to join our busy kitchen team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a friendly, fast-paced environment creating authentic Indian dishes that our customers love.
You will prepare and cook a wide range of traditional Indian curries and tandoori dishes, including naan, roti, kebabs, tikka, and both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals. Duties include marinating meats, preparing ingredients with authentic spices, maintaining portion control and presentation standards, and ensuring high food quality. You will also assist with stock management, general kitchen duties, and cleaning the kitchen, dishes, and cooking equipment after each shift to maintain hygiene and safety standards.
We are looking for applicants with:
Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in Indian cuisine and tandoor cooking
Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude
Team spirit and good communication skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
Eligibility: Applicants must be New Zealand Citizens or Permanent Residents with full working rights.
